Motion Control is used sparingly on film sets due to the cost of rental and the time required to program the individual shots. For animation and live-action table top work, on the other hand, motion control is necessary for almost every shot.
Motion control allows complete control of movement and focus and allows repeatable passes of individual shots for lighting and effects passes, layers and different product versions.
